Saskatoon Braves 2024 Coaching Information
Coach Selection Process:
Coaches are not selected until after players are placed on the various teams in each age group. Once this takes place, the Head Coach for each team shall be selected by a committee comprised of the Zone President, the Zone Vice-President and the Zone Coordinator of the said age group.
The coaching selection committee will consider formal coaching qualifications and requirements, coaching experience, coaching evaluations from prior years, and where the prospective coaches children place in evaluations. The committee may also recommend at least one assistant coach who has applied to coach. It will then be up to the head coach to select any remaining assistant coaches, however all assistant coaches must be presented and approved by the coaching selection committee.
Coaching Qualifications:
Coaching certification is completed through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). Different levels of certification are required to coach at each level. Modules are offered on-line and in person when available.
A coach must have completed all mandatory courses and modules for the age category of the team to compete at provincial level tournaments.
Saskatoon Braves Baseball will reimburse coaches for the cost of all training and certification through the NCCP or Baseball Saskatchewan.

This clinic allows you to complete a number of NCCP certifications if you participate.

Coaching session with Cory Hall to discuss skill development and practice structure
Jr/Sr/Advanced Rally Cap Coaches 5pm – 6pm
11U – 18U Coaches 6pm – 7:30pm
** There is the possibility of a Q and A with experienced Braves coaches 4pm – 5pm for JR/Sr/Advance Rally Cap. This is still TBD.
** There is the possibility of a Q and A with experienced Braves coaches 7:30pm – 8:30pm for 11U – 18U coaches. This is still TBD.
In-Season:
A 90 minute session, paid for by the Braves Zone, with Inside Pitch instructor Cory Hall. You can arrange the session at a time that works for you and your team. It can take place at the Inside Pitch indoor training centre, or you can request to have Cory attend one of your practices. Cory can assist with tips and suggestions on technical skills, teach drills that promote skill development, or help with practice structure.
